Marietta Memorial Hospital, Health System Appoints Trustees
The Memorial Health System recently appointed twelve new members to its Boards of Trustees. Each Board plays a critical role in the growth and philanthropic support of programs and services and is actively involved in the operation of its organization. Board members volunteer their time, talent, and expertise in providing governance and advocating for good healthcare within the community. "Our governing board has a great responsibility in leading our hospital and building its future, says Marietta Memorial Hospital President & CEO Larry Unroe, "The appointment of these board members will enhance Marietta Memorial Hospital and the Memorial Health Systems' ability to strengthen and grow. We are deeply appreciative of the time and commitment they provide to ensure quality health care in our community." The twelve new members include: After a year of service on the Foundation Board, Glen Hale moves to the Marietta Memorial Hospital Board. Hale is the President of Dimex Corporation and is active in the Noon Lions Club. Charlotte Hatfield, President of Washington State Community College, joins the Marietta Memorial Hospital Board. She is a member of the noon Rotary and serves on the boards of the YMCA, Chamber of Commerce and Artsbridge. She chairs the Board for the new Southeast Ohio Port Authority. Marietta Memorial Health Foundation Bradley Carman, D.O., General Surgery, is a member of Marietta Memorial's active medical staff. Carman is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery, and is a Clinical Instructor of General Surgery for the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is also a member of American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, American Osteopathic Association, Ohio State Medical Society, and Washington County Medical Society. As immediate Past President of the Marietta Welfare League, Julie Hammons now serves on the Marietta Memorial Health Foundation Board of Trustees. Hammons is active in the Putnam School PTO, the First Presbyterian Church of Marietta and the Kappa Ohio Child Conservation League. Larry Headlee, President of Bank One, is on the Marietta Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and serves on several local economic development boards. Dentist Jim Mills joins the Foundation Board. Mills is a member of the Noon Rotary, and serves on the board of directors for both the Washington County Farm Bureau and Ohio Woodlands Owners Association. Another Marietta Memorial medical staff member, Jeffery Patey, M.D., Emergency Medicine, joins the Health Foundation Board. Patey is Certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and by Advanced Cardiac Support as a provider and instructor. He is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians, a member of the Ohio State Medical Association and the Washington County Medical Society. Glenwood The Mayor of Marietta serves as a board member. This year new Mayor Michael Mullen will serve on the Board of Trustees for Glenwood Retirement Community. Representing the residents of Glenwood Retirement Community, Howard Stewart joins the Board at Glenwood. He is retired from Coppers Co. of Pittsburgh and remains active in Masonic Lodge #1 and the Marietta Shrine Club. Stewart is also a life member of the Elks and Past President of the Marietta Rotary. Since 1929, Marietta Memorial Hospital and the Memorial Health System have been providing compassionate, advanced health care to families throughout the mid-Ohio valley.
